King’s Spasticity Masterclass

King’s Commercial and King’s Neuro-rehabilitation team held their first two day Spasticity Masterclass on 25 and 26 April 2024.

Spasticity is a syndrome seen in patients with long-term neurological conditions affecting their brain or spinal cord. It can impact a patient’s quality of life in different ways, from active function to care. If left untreated, it can lead to serious complications such as infection, pressure sores, chronic pain and discomfort.

This event, led by Dr Eleonora Bradaschia, with the support of King’s Spasticity Team (pictured), was attended by over 60 delegates who were all healthcare professionals from different NHS trusts in and around London.

The delegates learnt from our clinical experts about the different ways King’s is supporting the local community and helping patients to live a better life.

On day two, a patient testimonial was presented to the group, which praised King’s Spasticity Team and the wider Neuro-rehabilitation Service for their support and help.

We would like to thank our generous sponsors for the support and help they provided to make this event a success.

Due to its success and feedback received, this event will re-run with a new agenda in November 2025.
