King’s Commercial Services visits Princess Royal University Hospital and Orpington Hospital

In April 2024, the KCS Education and Training team had the privilege to visit Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) and Orpington Hospital to meet the Orthopaedic Team.

We were welcomed by Orthopaedic Consultants Mr Robbie Ray and Mr Abhinav Gulihar. They briefed us about the training programmes which are available for fellows and observers.

The team were able to experience an onsite cadaveric mobile lab training session for junior residents. The training session gives the candidates exposure to procedures in a controlled environment, which helps them to build their skills and knowledge.

Mr Robbie Ray said: “Thanks to dedicated consultants and our partnerships with industry we are able to provide world class teaching for our residents and fellows at the PRUH. In this instance, we brought a mobile cadaveric laboratory on site to provide cadaveric trauma and arthroscopic training to our registrars. We were able to provide this training free of charge to the trainees. Along with dedicated teaching time, in-house courses, and evening journal clubs at a local restaurant we are also running an annual meeting in central London with national and international renowned speakers which is free to access for our trainees”.

The team were able to interact with the staff on site to inform them about King’s Academy and the Education and Training initiatives available.
